Visits

We get 2 days of vacation for every month that we serve. That ends up being about 48 days of vacation. However, all visits home will be at our expense. So we might not be able to afford it. And we would like to use our vacation days for travel in the region we are in. However, family and friends are encouraged to come visit us. And we would even be willing to meet somewhere for a small vacation. We read a PC blog written by someone in Cameroon, and he was planning to meet his friends in Europe at one point during his service. Maybe we can do something like that. We would love to have visitors at our site. That way we can share more about what we’re doing and how we live.

We will be flown home if you contact PC with a family emergency. They will relay the message, but they will decide if it warrants flying home or not. As my Grammy so sweetly asked, “Is a family emergency that your Grammy needs to see you?” No, probably not.

We’ll definitely miss everyone, and we’re very open to seeing people as often as possible.

  1. I just told Grandma of your plans and she thinks it’s wonderful, as do I. What can be more worthwhile than giving a couple years of your lives to make the world a better place? It will be a life-changing experience, and hopefully those of us here at home can learn and grow along with you via your blog. We’ll miss having you around, but two years flies by especially when you’re busy. I can’t wait to hear where you are going to call home for the next two years! Love

  2. We’re so glad you guys are excited for us. It really helps to know that you have people behind you on such a big decision.
