Medical clearance begins

I got an email this morning that my medical packet has been mailed. I knew it would be here within a week, so I went ahead and made an appointment with my doctor for a week from Friday. Medical clearance is very complicated, and I’m sure you’re not interested in all of the poking and prodding Tim and I will have to go through. So we’ll just let you know if there are any problems and when/if we finally do get medical clearance.

Anyway, if anyone out there is considering/currently applying, I found some really cool info about the dental exams. Dentists who are members of the International College of Dentists (and choose to participate) give out free dental exams and x-rays to Peace Corps Volunteers. When I first read this, I was thinking it would be like going to get your hair cut at the local beauty school. But these are real dentists, so that’s what Tim and I will be doing. Any corrections will need to be attended to by another dentist under our dental insurance, but it’s still a nice option. So just let me know if you’re interested and I’ll let you know how it goes. Here’s the Web site that lists the dentists available in your local area:

I am in motion and in transition right now. I married Tim Knoll less than a year ago, and we recently applied to The Peace Corps. I work as a freelance journalist.
