Tickets to Thailand

We got a letter in the mail the other day. Tim thought that his contact prescription would be fine for the eye glasses form. He was wrong, and PC wrote him a letter to request the actual eye prescription. The last time he had an exam was two years ago in Evansville, so we had to call to ask them to fill out the form. Of course, we don’t have a fax machine (this has been quite a problem throughout this process, so Tom and Susie have been nice enough to do a lot of the back and forth faxing that we have needed). Hopefully we can get that mailed in quickly, and then hear back about his medical review. I am glad they saw that though, because it means they’re actually looking at our medical file! Hopefully we will have news soon.
I booked our tickets to Thailand today. We’re leaving from Indy at 7:00 a.m. on May 12 and we’ll get to Bangkok at 4:30 on May 13. We’ll be home around 3 p.m. on June 1. Those are some things we already kind of knew, but it’s nice to have it all set in place. The program that Ball State offers is a great opportunity, and we’re really excited to be a part of it. There are two sites for teaching English. One is in southern Thailand, and the other is in Bangkok. We’ll be in Bangkok, and we’ll have about four days free just to see the sites of the city. I told the director we would go to Bangkok, but now they have enough volunteers. So we’ll be in the southern camp. Still very interesting and a great experience.

    1. I’m so glad you found the web site useful. Originally, we set it up so that our family and friends could know what is going on with us. But we’ve found a lot of people come along looking for information about what we’re going through because they are applying too. What stage are you at in the application process?

      1. I’m doing the long medical clearance wait right now, I’m nominated for North Africa/Middle East, leaving early September! I’ve found a lot of people from Indianapolis/Indiana who are applying, actually, I’m kind of surprised!
